A Sporting Chance
2012 was the year The Olympics came to London. It was a glorious 'summer of sport'. Elsewhere in the country, amateur sportsmen and women carried on training, with their eyes perhaps on local prizes. At schools and sports clubs, potential Olympic hopefuls for 2016, or 2020 grafted away, often following gruelling programmes designed to one day lead to greatness...
A Sporting Chance was a personal project based in Hampshire. I photographed amateurs of all ages who were involved in sports that would be featured in the 2012 games. They were photographed at places where they play, or train.
The work was exhibited in The Willis Museum and Art Gallery, Basingstoke in June/July 2012.
